The markings do look similar but on an aside, I used no references minus the ones he provided for a sabre tooth cat and some markings he provided on a separate sheet of paper.
I'll contact the creator in question for you and we can sort things out. My email is pikamoon@gmail.com. But fyi I highly doubt that he looked at your character and stole. It's not of his character :)
