An imaginary conversation between Altair (thylacosmilus' king cheetah) and Sabre. Altair, being the lighter, more agile and arguably smarter cheetah warns the big lug Sabre that he's too big to hide behind the normal ice age savannah-tundra grass. Grass that even he has trouble stalking in. Of course Sabre doesn't err on the side of caution and pretty much wants to charge right in.

I've always been on the fence about realism versus cartoony. Always went back and forth between them. But I feel I've gotten the eyes on these two down as well as the general facial shape. I know I'll nitpick it to death later. But for the time being I think this will "stand". Sabre and Whisper are © to me.

There's more to this story than simply this but anyways I'm satisfied with the artistic quality of this. 150 layers later I realized I really improved the designs but rather than redraw the line art I will improve the look in the next group picture. So even though I'm glad that it's finished, I hope to make more pictures like this in the future so I can really get my ideas on paper :)

This was a leopard for my tutorial seen on my deviantart (whisperpntr.deviantart.com). It was made somewhat spontaneously and I didn't really spend the time to spiff it up. But I have to say I am now tempted to add sparkles to it though I have no idea why. Sparkle-cat is stealing ur foodz.

My partner in crime and I are going to be drawing 2 feral comics. Lauren's comic will feature asian animals and you can see her WIP on her deviantart site. http://wadifahtook.deviantart.com/ Mine is felidi and is mythological with no adherence to the modern day animals and their habitats (cougars in africa? what?) This sheet was a sad attempt to merge our two styles together so it is easier for both of us to draw. It just ends up looking my style again so I probably need her help and see what we can do. :/ I'll be drawing design sheet 2 until then. That one will involve quite a bit of spotting and striping with a clouded leopard, snow leopard and a tiger.

I need to redo the layout for the top one. It is not completely consistent in the flow. And also need to redo the snow leopard head on the bottom but this is comic 2 of sabre's arc and comic one of halcyon's.

Starting on my character arc. Long story short, this scene is the overthrowing of the Felidi leaders by lions and stronger cats who are tired of hunger due to the changing weather during 8888BC. They have blamed their bad fortune of the diversity in ruling and are tired of following the advice of "weaker animals". They believe it's a time for change and for natural law to rule. The lionesses in the background are torn as they were never told the usurping would end in violence and death.
